200 seeds/pack | 50-60 days | Heirloom
Romaine type. Austrian heirloom , leaves green with maroon speckles. Very attractive. Does well in heat. Name means 'trout back' in reference to the speckled patterning on the leaves. Buttery tender leaves will form large romaine heads or harvest outside leaves when young. It was a struggle not to eat all our seed crop last year. For a veggie delicacy strip away outer leaves and eat tender juicy hearts drizzled with olive oil and a dash of salt!
